about

Accountability/treatment Courts save lives – every – single – day, according to All Rise (the premier training, membership, and advocacy organization for treatment courts). The Fulton County Accountability Court is one of these programs and the Hope and Healing Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been created to support the Fulton County program.

Why are they important?

Accountability/treatment Courts look at each individual holistically and work to promote their mental health and sobriety in a meaningful way. The goal is to encourage participants to be responsible, contributing, and valuable members of their families and for their communities.  It is more than just treating substance abuse and mental health.  Depending on the individual needs of the participants, the accountability/treatment courts promote:

- Education

- Job and skills training to obtain employment and earn an income

- Housing

- Family reunification and family support thus reducing the need for foster care placement

- Community networks to support continued success for our participants

- Delivery of drug-free babies

- Reintegration to civilian life for Veterans
