The Hope and Healing Foundation is a nonprofit organization designed to support the Fulton County Accountability Courts. The Accountability Courts, which are proven to save lives every single day, help support some of the most vulnerable members of our community, while impacting those served in profound and long-lasting ways. We strive to help Accountability Court participants learn to become responsible, contributing, and valuable members of their families and their communities.
Your donation to the Hope and Healing Foundation helps provide funding for critical programs that promote education, job and skills training, housing, family support, delivery of drug-free babies, Veteran reintegration support, and more to participants of the Fulton County Accountability Court.
Accountability/treatment Courts save lives – every – single – day, according to the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (the premier training, membership, and advocacy organization for treatment courts). The Fulton County Accountability Court is one of these programs and the Hope and Healing Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been created to support the Fulton County program.
Accountability/treatment Courts look at each individual holistically and work to promote their mental health and sobriety in a meaningful way. The goal is to encourage participants to be responsible, contributing, and valuable members of their families and for their communities. It is more than just treating substance abuse and mental health. Depending on the individual needs of the participants, the accountability/treatment courts promote:
- Education
- Job and skills training to obtain employment and earn an income
- Housing
- Family reunification and family support thus reducing the need for foster care placement
- Community networks to support continued success for our participants
- Delivery of drug-free babies
- Reintegration to civilian life for Veterans
Treatment courts uphold the enduring, absolute value and dignity of every person and embody compassion for the most vulnerable in our justice system. Reducing the stigma of substance use and mental health disorders has never been more important as our nation battles the opioid epidemic. Supporting these programs helps support the most vulnerable and impacts those served in profound and long-lasting ways.
